My tips for beginning artists
Starting out as a new microblading artist can be SO difficult. Feeling lost and confused, and feeling like you’ll never catch up to everyone else. I’ve been there, and it’s hard! Here are some things that helped me:
find mentors!
It helped me so much when I first started out to find artists that I looked up to and trusted and ASK QUESTIONS. Train with them, look at the information they’re putting out, and study their stroke pattern!
perfect your stroke pattern
I used to do this all the time first starting out! (And actually still do this) I would go through instagram on my saved posts of all the brows and stroke patterns that I loved and screen shot them and then ZOOM UP on the photos. Then I would have the picture right in front of me as I practiced my pattern on practice skins.
do what successful artists are doing!
I’m not saying you should directly copy people by any means but I think it definitely helps to look at the people you admire as successful in your industry and DO WHAT THEY’RE DOING. Are they posting on their instagram everyday? Are they engaging with followers and potential clients? Sometimes it feels uncomfortable to put yourself out there in those ways but I promise it helps!
and just have confidence in yourself!!!
For me this was probably the number one thing that helped me grow as an artist. Practice your craft and BE CONFIDENT in your work and your knowledge! People trust and are drawn to confident people.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
