The Role of Brows

You may not realize it, but your eyebrows are the first thing people notice about you.

They’re not just hair - they are the focal point of your entire face.

As a microblading artist here in Utah, I’ve seen what great eyebrows can do.

No matter your age, or where you are in the world, a great brow has more power than you may think.

But why eyebrows?  Why not your eyes, your smile, or your personality?

Sure, those things are important.  But take a moment to imagine your face without eyebrows.

Scary, right?

Believe it or not, your face is more easily identified by your eyebrows, rather than your eyes.

In fact, a person will notice your eyebrows first, even if they don’t realize it.

In a study published in 2003, a group of people were shown the same celebrity faces.  The participants were more easily able to identify those faces without eyes, rather than those without eyebrows.

The study concluded that eyebrows play a greater role in face recognition than any other facial feature.

Beyond basic recognition, your eyebrows help with many other things:

Protection

Your brows are not only a prominent feature on your face, but they also perform one very important function - protection. Eyebrows help to keep things that you don’t want in your eyes, out.  Things like dirt, sweat, or dust.

Emotions

Eyebrows also help us when it comes to our social interactions.  They play a key role in how we express our mood and our emotions.  You can be across the room from someone, and they will be able to tell how you’re feeling just by looking at your brows.

Your Eyes

After eyebrows, your eyes are the next thing people see.  Your brows affect the entire eye area.  They can help wide eyes appear closer together, or close-set eyes appear wider.  They can also help small eyes appear larger. With the right shape, brows help your eyes shine. They make you appear less tired - not to mention younger!

Overall Appearance

Eyebrows frame every single aspect of your face.  They can even change the way other facial features are perceived.  Most of us have something about ourselves that we want to change.  Eyebrows also work to modify the shape or appearance of other features on our faces.  They can help balance a wide or long nose, soften a strong jawline, or draw the attention away from a larger forehead.

Grooming

How you groom (or don’t groom) your brows also tells someone a lot about you.  Taking the time to properly shape your brows, instead of leaving them wild and untamed, will help you appear more polished, even if you leave the house without a single drop of makeup.

Changing your brows will not only help you make a great first impression, but they will also help you look at your face in an entirely different way.

You may be wondering how you can achieve the perfect brows.  It’s actually much easier than you might think.

Microblading has the power to do all of this...and more!

Imagine having more confidence, and being able to stop worrying about what bothers you.

Imagine being able to spend way less time shopping for beauty products - not to mention less time in front of the mirror.

Microblading is a great way to achieve brows that are perfectly created for you and your face shape.  You could also choose brow lamination to help control unruly brows, and keep them looking smooth and shiny.  If microblading or brow lamination isn’t for you, brow tinting or brow sculpting may be just right for you!
